For the second time in nine years Susie has captured the Coveted Schneider Cup. This was the closest year ever and no decision was reached until the first night of the final four.
Only one person selected Kansas to win the tournament, Tom, but he placed himself in such a hole in the early part of the competition that he only finished third. Tim ("I really did not copy everything from USA Today") finished a close second. While there is nothing bad about finishing second, it gives you neither money or bragging rights.
On a personal note there has been a lot of talk about how late we are at posting the winner. We are attempting to achieve accuracy and not speed. We have looked at all the hanging chads and have now certified the final results. The final standing for the 2008 Schneider Cup are -
1 Susie Schneider 1080 points (85.7%)
2 Tim Dunn 1060 points (83.5%)
3 Tom Devendorf 1030 points (80.0%)
4 Diane Devendorf 880 points (54.7%)
5 Joey Schneider 820 points (42.3%)
6 Jeff Schneider 730 points (25.0%)
7 Alan Koblin 700 points (20.4%)
8 Barbara Heis 520 points (4.7%)

Congratulations Susie! That means that for the 6th time in 9 years, the schneider women have won the cup. As opposed to the Schneider men, who have taken it twice! Perhaps there is something to be said for following your heart ..............
Well said, Pennyfeather! I agree, and have always believed that sportsmanship is (or should be) one part skill and one part heart. Jeff, once again you have brought us all great fun. I love you. Susie
